The Midwest is located in the center of the U.S.A, surrounded by the Rocky and Appalachian Mountains. That's where it gets it's nickname, "the heartland," because it's located in the center of the U.S.A. The land is mainly flat, with few mountains. Lucky for you, it has several bodies of water surrounding it/in it, so you can always have drinking water and a source of transportation. They include the Great Lakes (with Lake Superior in it compeletely,) Wabash River, Missouri River, Mississippi River, the Platte River, and several others.. Some of the land features include the Ozark Mountains (mainly in southern Missouri,) the Black Hills (a mountain range in South Dakota,) the Rolling Hills, the Bad Lands, etc.
